Sojourners is a swashbuckling, hand-inked space adventure from Kraig Rasmussen — the story of a crew that travels a long, long way just to meet the most terrifying predators in the known universe: cats.
Book 1 follows the crew of the starship Sojourner II as they touch down on a dangerous alien world and immediately find themselves confronted by the most vicious, aloof, bossy creatures in the cosmos — CATS! Part pulpy space opera and part comedy of manners, the series plays Rasmussen’s dense, Moebius-influenced pen-and-ink art against a gleefully absurd premise. The updated edition of Book 1 debuted at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, and Rasmussen also offered a black-and-white edition (32 pages, 9.5” x 6.625”) as an add-on during his Odds & Ends Zoop crowdfunding campaign in January 2023.
The Book 1 early edition was a 29-page introduction to the saga, and Rasmussen is expanding the full story as a full-color webcomic published through his Monkeygong Comics Club. The club — which he discussed in depth on the AIPT Comics Podcast — is where the longer, ongoing Sojourners story lives alongside his other serialized work.
