Daniel Stalter

Writer & creator of Dream Crasher

Daniel Stalter is a storyteller and comic book writer based in Brooklyn, NY. He launched his first series Dream Crasher in 2015 with artist and frequent collaborator Reed Olsen. They have since published 4 of the 12 planned chapters and have run two successful Kickstarter campaigns. The first collected edition was released in early 2018.

As a child, Daniel filled countless notebooks with stories—many about the planet Dogtopia and RL Stine-inspired knock-offs. The passion continued through film in high school and college, where he discovered slam poetry. He competed with the SUNY Oneonta Slam Poetry Team for 3 consecutive years and led his team to a fourth place finish at Collegiate Nationals in 2008.

Daniel writes for the Geeks OUT blog and is an organizing member of the Brooklyn Speculative Fiction Writers. His writing focuses on weird horror through a queer lens, grappling with themes of shame and self-actualization. When he’s not writing, he’s an avid bike rider and proud dog dad.

He contributed Euphoria to We Suck at Comics: Volume 2, a semi-autobiographical story about young queer love created for the anthology Crush: First Love, New Talent (Stacked Deck Press).
