James Biehl
New York-based sci-fi artist and educator bringing epic adventure to life
James Biehl doesn’t just draw comics—he engineers visual experiences. As an artist on Wayward Raven Media’s Horsemen, he brought the thunder to a universe where the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse have been reimagined as cybernetic warriors battling across dimensions to protect humanity’s precious gift of free will.
Based in New York, Biehl grew up on Long Island and spent six years studying Art at Pratt Institute in NYC before settling in Eastern Suffolk. He’s worked in comics for years through the Glasshouse Graphics talent agency, and his past collaborators include Karen Traviss, author of The Clone Wars and Halo novels.
His current project is Two Worlds, a creator-owned comic exploring science fiction and retro-futurist themes. When not working on comics, Biehl teaches locally at several Art Schools and maintains a studio at The Atelier At Flowerfields in Smithtown NY.
His illustrations pulse with kinetic energy, capturing the cosmic scale of intergalactic warfare while never losing sight of the human drama at the heart of the story. Each page feels like a movie frame, frozen at the exact moment of maximum impact.
