John Escobales
Writer and storyteller with a rock n roll edge
John Escobales has been a writer and storyteller for as long as he can remember. He studied Journalism in high school which led to him writing articles for the local newspaper and various rock mags. He drank, cheated and stole his way from one side of the country to the other writing songs and singing them in various bands along the way until he landed on the shoreline in Connecticut where he started teaching Kung Fu while taking Creative Writing and Screenplay classes from Tom O’Neil. John is still teaching Martial Arts, still writing songs and singing them, and still writes articles about rock n roll—but now he also writes about politics as well.
In ‘Train A Comin” from We Suck at Comics Volume 2, John explores themes of resistance against authority. The story is about two guys playing a very long game of tug of war—one is tired of telling the other he doesn’t want to play anymore. His solution is natural but unconventional in today’s “what can you do?” state of mind.
Their work includes We Suck at Comics: Volume 2 - Coloring Outside The Lines.
