Juan Romera is an Argentine comic artist whose journey from fanzine creator in South America to U.S. independent publisher veteran spans over two decades of dedicated craft. Born on August 26, 1977, in Bahía Blanca, Argentina, he began creating short comics for fanzines in Argentina, Brazil, and Spain in 2002, and by 2005 had launched his career with American independent publishers.
His work has appeared across a remarkable range of titles and publishers, including IDW, BOOM! Studios, CEX Publishing, Antarctic Press, and many others. Notable projects include the Scratcher series for Antarctic Press, Sanitarium for Guardian Knight Comics, and Astro & Inez: La Novela for Comics Experience. His portfolio demonstrates a versatile artist comfortable with everything from horror to sci-fi, working in both pencil and digital formats. He also contributed to All We Ever Wanted: Stories of a Better World, the Ringo Award–nominated sci-fi anthology from A Wave Blue World. Romera’s art is characterized by clean, expressive linework and strong storytelling instincts—qualities that make his pages read with clarity and impact.
