Aaron Berke
Screenwriter, filmmaker, and comic book author
Aaron Berke is a screenwriter, filmmaker, entertainment journalist, and comic book author based in New York City. He graduated from Brandeis University in 2013 with a degree in Film, Television, and Interactive Media, and has been working in the entertainment industry for over 17 years.
Comic Work
Aaron’s first published comic, “Victoria”, appeared in Oneshi Press Quarterly Anthology #6 (October 2018). Illustrated by Marika Brousianou, the story follows a character roaming through a vast mortuary with a strange individual looking for creepy kind of peace.
Film & Writing
Aaron is also the creator of the award-nominated short film “Hats” (2016), a silent romantic fantasy in the vein of Chaplin, Keaton, and Pixar. The film was nominated for Best Short Film at the Big Apple Film Festival and Best Comedy Short at the Garden State Film Festival.
As an entertainment journalist, Aaron writes for Entertainment Voice, covering film, television, and theater. He attends red carpet premieres and conducts interviews with actors, writers, and directors.
Creative Philosophy
Aaron believes that “every moment in life can make a great story. All you have to do is freeze the moment, and add a dash of adventure.” He’s particularly drawn to stories that exist “just to the left of reality” while containing essential human elements.
