📍 Jersey City, NJ
Alexander Sapountzis is a writer and illustrator based in Jersey City, NJ, and a co-founder of Wayward Raven Media. With over a decade of experience, he’s best known as the artist behind Damn Heroes, a weekly webcomic that blends superhero satire with workplace comedy—chronicling the misadventures of an ordinary guy trapped in a utopian city of caped crusaders.
His clean, expressive art style brings humor and heart to every panel, whether he’s drawing superheroics or mythological chaos. Beyond his long-running webcomic, Alexander has contributed stories to the We Suck at Comics anthology series, bringing his unique visual storytelling to a variety of genres.
When he’s not drawing comics, Alexander enjoys creative problem-solving (sometimes through finesse, sometimes through brute force) and is known to occasionally derail podcasts. He’s partial to pizza.
