Corey Lansdell

Corey Lansdell is a multi-talented creative who has been telling stories through illustration, animation, and writing for nearly two decades. Based in Edmonton, Alberta, he brings a unique combination of artistic skill and narrative expertise to every project he undertakes.

Working professionally since 2005, Corey has developed a reputation as a skilled communicator and passionate collaborator. His work spans multiple creative disciplines, including illustration, motion graphics, and graphic design. He is also deeply invested in nurturing the next generation of creative talent, serving as a sessional instructor of Visual Communication Design at MacEwan University and leading a local chapter of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).

Corey’s most notable comics work to date is Ghoster Heights, a middle-grade graphic novel co-written with Kelly Mellings and illustrated by Lisa LaRose. Published by Vault Comics and distributed by Simon & Schuster, the graphic novel tells the story of eight-year-old Ona, who moves into her Baba’s apartment complex after a traumatic event and befriends a ghost in the boiler room. As Ona’s new friendship allows her to see other ghosts haunting the building’s residents, she decides to help her neighbors face their troubles, ultimately confronting her own trauma and grief. The story has been praised for its heartwarming approach to difficult themes and its blend of spooky atmosphere with genuine emotional resonance.

Beyond comics, Corey is developing Possum Awesome and the Tome of Tomorrows, an epic middle-grade novel that promises to showcase his storytelling abilities in a new format.
