Gregory Floch (also known by his alias William Dedock) is a French comic artist and illustrator whose atmospheric, often haunting work has earned him a dedicated following in the bande dessinée world. After completing a scientific baccalaureate, Gregory returned to his childhood passion for art, enrolling at the prestigious Ecole Emile Cohl in Lyon for three years before continuing his development as an autodidact through artist books, sketchbooks, travels to Rome, and collaborations with writers across genres.

Gregory’s artistic style is distinctive—often described as impactful and atmospheric, evoking images of gray skies, biting winds, Breton storms, and occasionally, unexpected moments of beauty. This moody sensibility makes him particularly suited for horror and historical fiction, genres where atmosphere is everything.

His French-language webcomic Le Christ des mouches (The Christ of the Flies) has accumulated nearly 58,000 readers on the Amilova platform. This 47-page one-shot tells the story of an almost-superhero who reveals themselves at the bottom of a hole—a dark, atmospheric tale available for free reading on Amilova under Creative Commons license.

Gregory’s collaboration with writer Benoît Chérel on the historical horror project [Projet Blaincourt](https://www.filsdessiecles.com/bande-dessinée/projet-blaincourt) represents some of his most ambitious work. Set in industrial 19th century France, the story follows Henri Blaincourt, an idealist businessman who dreams of revolutionizing workers’ rights—until he becomes possessed by a very ancient creature that drives him slowly mad. The 15-page bande dessinée was self-published in March 2022 and presented at Festival Griso-Ludiques 2022. The team is currently seeking support for a sequel through Tipeee.

His black-and-white horror work includes “Marauder from The Night” with writer Christoff Rodriguez, featured in We Suck at Comics: Volume Two from Wayward Raven Media. The black-and-white format ratchets up the terror of this creepy tale of the undead.

Gregory’s work has appeared in numerous anthologies and publications, including:

  • YIL Editions
  • Slice and Quarterly
  • Chronicles of Terror
  • DirtyGirlsMagazine
  • BAM Anthology
  • SnowyWorks
  • Various neighborhood publications and the Staré association

His portfolio spans multiple genres, including Contemporary, Horror, Fantasy, Sci-fi, and more provocative work in the Sexy category, demonstrating remarkable versatility.
