Guilherme Balbi is a Brazilian comics artist with a résumé that spans the biggest publishers in the medium. He made his American debut at DC on Team 7 with writer Justin Jordan, then went on to work across GI Joe, the acclaimed Avatar: The High Ground, and more — while also building a devoted following in the Brazilian comics scene with Justiça Sideral. His ArtStation and Instagram showcase a clean, expressive style equally at home with superheroes, sci-fi, and fantasy.
That range made him the perfect artist for Critical Role: The Mighty Nein Origins — Beauregard Lionett, the origin of Exandria’s favorite troublemaking monk. Written by Mae Catt and colored by Eisner-nominated Diana Sousa, the book follows Beau from the “traditional” Lionett family estate to the Cobalt Soul, and Balbi’s grounded action and body language carry every punch, smirk, and emotional gut-check.
