Lucia Fasano doesn’t just write stories—she excavates them from the messy intersections of grief, identity, and the absurd. A multifaceted Los Angeles creative who cut her teeth in Portland’s vibrant comedy and music scenes, Fasano brings a songwriter’s ear for emotional truth and a comedian’s eye for the ridiculous to every project she touches.

Her comics writing debuted in 2018 with two standout anthology contributions. In All We Ever Wanted: Stories of a Better World, Fasano penned “The Inventor’s Daughter,” a sci-fi meditation on grief and heroism illustrated by Tess Fowler and colored by Gab Contreras. The story follows Ariada, a young inventor navigating life in a future where her late mother—a visionary who reversed global warming and fostered world peace—has become a literal museum exhibit. With a talking cat named Más serving as her confidant, Ariada confronts the tension between public adoration and private loss. That same year, Fasano contributed “Half a World Away” to Image Comics’ Where We Live: A Benefit for the Survivors in Las Vegas—another collaboration with Tess Fowler. The autobiographical piece tackled her complicated relationship with her late father, screenwriter John Fasano, who wrote action films like Tombstone and Universal Soldier: The Return. Growing up in Hollywood gun culture, Fasano navigated the divide between her father’s world of firearms and her own evolving perspective on gun violence in America.

Beyond comics, Fasano has built an impressive body of work across entertainment. Her music career includes the albums Radio Silence (2016) and Best Friend Forever (2019), with the former crowdfunded via Kickstarter to 228% of its goal. She co-founded The Grrrl Front, an all-women music and comedy festival in Portland, and has performed at the All Jane Comedy Festival, SF Sketchfest, and New York Funny Songs Fest. Her acting credits include guest spots on IFC’s Portlandia, HBO’s The Deuce, ABC’s Single Parents, and Hulu’s Dollface. She also co-created and co-stars in the web series Catty B’s with Angela Webber of The Doubleclicks, and was named to Willamette Week’s “Best New Band” ballot three years running.
