Brian Schirmer is a California-based screenwriter and critically acclaimed comic book writer living in San Francisco. He previously taught comics writing at university level and has become known for blending noir and fantasy genres with witty, character-driven storytelling.
His work at Image Comics includes Fairlady—a gender-swapped Magnum, P.I. in a post-war fantasy world—and Black Jack Ketchum, a weird Western he co-created with artist Claudia Balboni. He also writes Quests Aside for Vault Comics, a fantasy comedy about tavern staff in a tabletop RPG world, and the self-published Ultrasylvania graphic novel series.
