Chris Shehan is a comic artist living in Texas who has been drawing comics professionally since 2016. He’s best known for his atmospheric horror work, particularly on BOOM! Studios’ bestselling series House of Slaughter, part of the Something is Killing the Children universe created by James Tynion IV and Werther Dell’Edera.
His work on House of Slaughter has helped define the visual tone of the series, bringing the monster-hunting narrative to life with moody linework and compelling character designs. The series has become one of BOOM! Studios’ most successful titles, spawning multiple volumes and spin-offs.
Shehan also illustrated The Autumnal, a horror series published by Image Comics/Syzygy that explores small-town supernatural mysteries. His ability to create atmosphere and dread has made him a go-to artist for horror comics.
In Specs, Shehan reunited with writer David M. Booher for a 1980s-set horror-comedy about friendship and the supernatural. The four-issue limited series was published by BOOM! Studios in 2022-2023 and received positive reviews for its nostalgic tone and compelling art.
