Juan Gedeon
Argentine comic artist and inker whose crisp finishes defined Tomb Raider's early issues and whose Marvel, DC, and Image credits span Ghost Racers to Venom.
Juan Gedeon was born in Buenos Aires in 1987 and started out drawing storyboards for commercials—a decade of visual problem-solving that paid off when Marvel called. His first big assignment was Ghost Racers (2015), part of the Secret Wars event, followed by three issues of Venom, work on Invincible Iron Man, and short stories across Spider-Man, Cable, Domino, and Ms. Marvel. For Skybound/Image he drew the Horizon maxi-series; for DC he has penciled Teen Titans, Doom Patrol, and Dark Nights: Death Metal: Multiverse’s End. Marvel Zombies: Black, White & Blood, Scream: Curse of Carnage, Star Wars: Tie Fighter, and Doctor Strange fill out an impressively wide résumé.
Before all that, though, Gedeon was part of the launch team on Dark Horse’s 2014 Tomb Raider, where his crisp inks gave Nicolás Daniel Selma’s pencils their signature finish across issues #1–7 and #11–12, plus the first half of the Tomb Raider: The Beginning prequel. He shared the book with writers Gail Simone and Rhianna Pratchett, fellow inker Pierluigi Baldassini, penciller Andrea Mutti, and colorist Michael Atiyeh—the look that anchors the Tomb Raider Omnibus Volume 1.
