Prolific Dark Horse colorist behind Star Wars, Mass Effect, and Tomb Raider, and cover artist of the Tomb Raider Omnibus Volume 1.
Color is the first thing you feel in a Michael Atiyeh comic, and for more than two decades the American colorist has been the secret weapon behind some of Dark Horse’s most iconic licensed books.
Atiyeh began his career at CrossGen before joining Dark Horse, where he became the colorist of choice for the Star Wars line—Empire, Knights of the Old Republic and its War sequel, The Old Republic, Tales, Boba Fett: Man with a Mission, The Force Unleashed, and Knight Errant, in a partnership with writer John Jackson Miller that spanned seven years—and for BioWare’s Mass Effect comics (Redemption, Evolution, Invasion, Homeworlds, Foundation, Discovery), plus Dragon Age, Halo: Escalation, The Orville, and adaptations like Avatar: The Way of Water.
On the 2014 Tomb Raider series he colored the entire 18-issue run plus the Tomb Raider: The Beginning prequel, working with every artist and inker on the book—Nicolás Daniel Selma, Derlis Santacruz, Andrea Mutti, Juan Gedeon, Andy Owens, and Pierluigi Baldassini—alongside writers Gail Simone and Rhianna Pratchett. His atmospheric palettes, from the storm-wracked island of Yamatai to the neon of global cities, gave Lara’s world its moody, cinematic texture, and his cover art adorns the Tomb Raider Omnibus Volume 1.
