Matt LeJeune is a New Jersey-based comic artist and illustrator who has carved out a niche in the indie comics world through convention art and anthology contributions. Active since at least 2018, LeJeune brings a versatile illustration style that shifts between gritty marker sketches at conventions and polished sequential work in published anthologies.
LeJeune’s most prominent published credit is All We Ever Wanted: Stories of a Better World, the Ringo Award-nominated 24-story sci-fi anthology from A Wave Blue World. Alongside artists like Liana Kangas, Ryan Lee, and Toby Cypress, LeJeune contributed interior art to a collection that The New York Times highlighted as one of the season’s essential comics. He also appeared at the anthology’s signing tour at JHU Comic Books in NYC alongside editors Matt Miner and Eric Palicki.
Beyond the anthology circuit, LeJeune illustrated stories for GWAR: The Enormogantic Fail (Renegade Arts Entertainment, 2019), a sci-fi horror one-shot tied to the legendary shock rock band’s comic book universe. He also contributed to the anti-fascist anthology series Always Punch Nazis (Pilot Studios, 2018–2020), which played a key role in forming Kickstarter United, a historic milestone for creator rights.
When not working on published comics, LeJeune is a regular presence at conventions like Zapp Comics Comic Con in Wayne, New Jersey, where he’s known for his dynamic convention sketches—marker illustrations on USPS Priority Mail stickers featuring characters like Darkseid and various pop culture mashups.
