Kevin Burke
Animation writer, producer, and showrunner behind Ninjago: Dragons Rising, Stretch Armstrong & the Flex Fighters, Star Wars Adventures, and Critical Role's Fjord Stone.
Kevin Burke is one of the busiest writer-producers in animation — and one half of a legendary partnership. Alongside Chris “Doc” Wyatt, he’s written more than 200 scripts for Ninjago: Dragons Rising, The Legend of Vox Machina, Star Wars Resistance, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, Guardians of the Galaxy, Ultimate Spider-Man, and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic — a résumé that earned the duo an Emmy nomination for Marvel’s Rocket & Groot.
Burke is also a showrunner in his own right. He developed and executive produced Stretch Armstrong & the Flex Fighters for Netflix, executive produced Robert Kirkman’s Super Dinosaur for Amazon, showran Transformers: BotBots, and co-created and leads Ninjago: Dragons Rising — the current flagship of the LEGO franchise. He’s a head writer’s head writer: someone who can build a serialized mythology for a toy-based show and still land the joke.
When the duo steps into comics, they bring that storytelling discipline with them: Star Wars Adventures for IDW, the Stretch Armstrong tie-in, and Fjord Stone for Critical Role: The Mighty Nein Origins, the Penguin Random House-published origin of the half-orc sailor who never quite fit the orcish mold.
Perfect for fans of all-ages adventure, animated franchises with real depth, and the creative teams who make your favorite shows — and the comics that follow them.
