Phillip Sevy
Comic book artist and writer known for his work on Tomb Raider, The House, and creator-owned series Triage.
Phillip Sevy began his comics career with “Heartless Dark,” a weekly webcomic he wrote, penciled, inked, and colored. After its conclusion, he attended the Savannah College of Art and Design where he earned his MFA in Sequential Art.
Since then, Sevy has become best known for his work on Dark Horse’s Tomb Raider series, which he drew for 16 issues across multiple miniseries. His creator-owned work includes The House (with artist Drew Zucker), a horror series about soldiers trapped in a haunted mansion during the Battle of the Bulge that was named one of the top horror comics of 2018 by Paste Magazine.
His sci-fi creator-owned series Triage, published by Dark Horse, explores themes of identity through the story of three women in a post-apocalyptic world. Sevy wrote, drew, and colored the five-issue miniseries, which was called “the sleeper hit of 2019.”
Sevy has also worked for Top Cow (The Freeze, Magdalena), Valiant Entertainment, IDW, and Black Mask Comics. He previously taught Comics and Sequential Art at Broadview Entertainment Arts University, where he won awards for Outstanding Faculty and Excellence in Applied Learning. He currently teaches online courses with Comics Experience.
