Harry Saxon

Greek-born comics colorist with a passion for vibrant, atmospheric storytelling.

Born in Athens, Greece in 1982, Harry Saxon started dabbling in comics and illustration from an early age, working with numerous magazines and publishing houses both in Greece and abroad. Self-taught, he’s built a career on bringing other artists’ visions to life through masterful coloring.

In 2013, Saxon emigrated to the UK and worked in theatre and events publicity design, as well as contributing to various indie comics projects. He returned to Greece in 2020 and has since focused almost exclusively on comics coloring work. His art has been featured in more than 30 exhibitions around Europe, and he’s a member of the Greek Comics Academy.

Saxon’s signature style—rich, atmospheric colors that shift with emotional context—has earned him consistent critical praise. Whether depicting the cosmic chaos of space operas, the psychological horror of urban fantasy, or the vibrant queer joy of galaxy-spanning adventures, his coloring serves the story while adding layers of meaning.

His most prominent credit is Vagrant Queen for Vault Comics, the Eisner and GLAAD Media Award-nominated space opera written by Magdalene Visaggio that Syfy adapted into a television series. Saxon colored all issues of both the original series and its sequel Vagrant Queen: A Planet Called Doom. Other notable credits include Killer Queens for Dark Horse Comics (nominated for both Eisner and GLAAD Media Awards twice), Sex Death Revolution for Black Mask Studios, Test for Vault Comics, and Final Gamble for Band of Bards Comics.

Saxon’s work often features LGBTQ+ themes, reflecting his own identity as a member of the community. His coloring amplifies the emotional beats of these stories, using warm tones during moments of connection and cold hues during isolation and conflict.

Currently, Harry is working on his first full-length graphic novel, set for release in 2025 from Jemma Press. He was one of the 2023 judges of the Animasyros International Animation Festival.

Perfect for fans of vibrant, atmospheric coloring that brings stories to life, similar in style to the work of other acclaimed colorists in the indie comics space.
