📍 Canada

Jason Wordie is a Canadian comic book colorist whose work has graced the pages of hundreds of comics over a career spanning more than a decade. A graduate of the Alberta College of Art & Design with a background in illustration and character design, Wordie has become one of the most sought-after colorists in independent and mainstream comics alike.

Wordie’s portfolio reads like a tour through modern comics’ most exciting projects. He brought color to the cosmic chaos of Wasted Space from Vault Comics, the sci-fi comedy series written by Michael Moreci with art by Hayden Sherman. His work on The Autumnal and Resonant for Vault Comics showcased his ability to create atmospheric horror palettes that enhance the emotional weight of each scene. At Image Comics, Wordie has been credited as creator of God Country and First Knife, and has colored recent series like We’re Taking Everyone Down With Us and Kaya alongside artist Wes Craig.

His versatility extends to major franchise work, including coloring for Planet of the Apes at BOOM! Studios, Harley Quinn Vol. 4 at DC Comics, and Cyberpunk 2077 at Dark Horse. Wordie has also contributed to Marvel’s Ultimate Black Panther and Ultimate Spider-Man lines, as well as indie titles like Undone by Blood, Out of the Blue, and Hunt for the Skinwalker.

Wordie’s work has been reviewed positively by critics, with an 8.8 average rating on Comic Book RoundUp. His collaboration with writer Curt Pires and artist Kevin Castaniero on You’ve Been Cancelled was noted by Kirkus Reviews in December 2023.
